Conservation, by its very nature, requires a specialist capability developed over many years experience in dealing with sensitive historic structures. Malachy Walsh and Partners has such a capability and has worked on many prestigious, sensitive and well known conservation projects over the last number of years. On the Skelligs, a World Heritage site, Malachy Walsh and Partners has, for many years, acted as Engineering Advisors to the Office of Public Works and have developed conservation sensitive engineering solutions to stabilise this historic site and preserve it for future generations.
Malachy Walsh and Partners has also worked on conservation projects on the Blasket Islands, on Garnish Island and on a variety of church structures. In Ardfert Cathedral, ground breaking but nonetheless historically sensitive techniques were utilised to stabilize and conserve the existing 11th / 13th century structure.
Malachy Walsh and Partners, again in conjunction with the Office of Public Works, carried out historic conservation on Kilmainham Courthouse and completed same in advance of the 2016 Centenary celebrations for the 1916 rising.
