Project Description

King John’s Castle is Limerick’s most important heritage attraction. The original castle was constructed on the banks of the River Shannon c.1212. As part of its 800th year anniversary, Malachy Walsh and Partners were appointed Mechanical and Electrical Consultants on the Redevelopment of King Johns Castle, Limerick.

The project involved 3 main components, the redevelopment works to the existing Museum Building, Restaurant Building and Public Areas; conservation and restoration works to King Johns Castle (National Monument); and specialist Museum Fit-Out involving state of the art display, interactive and re-enactment installation.
